Autumn in New York

How quickly the weather has changed. Before Labor Day, New York was a mess of sweaty, sticky ickiness. As if dictated by the calendar, Mother Nature turned off the humidity. I love it. It’s perfect right now. Sometimes I grab a light layer when I leave in the morning when it’s low 60s, but not always.

It’s still warm. The high temp today should be 81, but the oppressive heat & humidity has broken. It feels so good to be outside. I get home and don’t have to switch on the A/C and stand in front of it while I catch my breath.

Yes, this autumn thing is pretty great. I’ve been sleeping covered up. I had been throwing the top sheet off me since May because I was too hot. Now I even have my quilt on the bed. I’ve also turned off the A/C and fan at night. Only problem is that the fan was really good at drowning out the street noise, so now I hear trucks and people taking out their trash again.

According to reports, we’re in for a brutal winter, so I will savor every bit of this perfection I can get. I’m going outside now. I have the day off! See ya!

Let's talk it out
