I’ve been wanting to move out of “the frat house” in the theater district, but it made me sad to think I wouldn’t be able to wait for Broadway lotteries so easily if I lived Uptown or in Brooklyn. The lotteries are two hours before showtime, and from where I live now, I can easily try for tickets on my way home from work or after Saturday morning yoga class. If I won, I’d have two hours to run home and change before showtime. Just Friday night I told Quyn I was going to step it up with the lottery because I’d regret it if I moved without trying a little harder.
And I won Saturday matinee drawing! Although I kinda felt like a loser because when my name was called, I had no one to squeal with and hug or high-five, I made my way into the theater and called Quyn. No answer. She’s still asleep! Wake up, Quyn! I need to know if you’re free today. Luckily she texted back while I was grabbing coffee, so I didn’t have to start calling in understudies. We broke the rules and managed one picture in the theater before the usher told us to put our cameras away. So, you’ll have to get your “Book of Mormon” preview on YouTube like the rest of the world. The show was fantastic. I highly recommend getting tickets for the national tour, if you don’t mind a little raunch & crassness.
