I learned a lesson today: Don’t sell your dreams short.
Today I had the following conversation, and I’m paraphrasing
Me: Riki, I want you to come here and go to the theater with me. We could see “A Streetcar Named Desire” or “Book of Mormon” or “Avenue Q” … you can pick.
Riki: Ooh, either the classic “Streetcar” or the modern “Book of Mormon.”
Me: Or we could see both!
Yes! Always pick both. It’s a fantasy after all.
Later, my roommates and I were talking in the living room. One mentioned his friend has a watch resale value: $10,000. The question became what we would each do with $10,000 in mad money. Would you spend it on a watch? They said they would. I said I’d rather get really good seats to Broadway plays. That would be about 33 shows at $300 each! Or 16 if I brought Riki each time.
What dream would you finance with $10K?
