It’s OK!

One of my favorite Glamour magazine features is “Hey, It’s OK … ,” a monthly list of silly confessions or things to just let go. I’ve made my own list.

Hey, it’s OK …

… to schedule a night in to read magazines, watch TV and write your blog.

… if a cheeseburger and cupcake is dinner once every 28 days.

… to buy that perfect sweater/tank/jeans in every color available. No one is going to notice or care.

… to get a little excited to see what might be in the mailbox (especially around birthday time!).

… to accidentally-on-purpose forget to turn off for that errand on your way home from work. Sometimes you just want to get home.

… to skip reading the daily newspaper. Just make sure to know who we are at war with, the general state of the economy, who is running for office and any major catastrophes. You don’t have to read the endless stupid crime stories and celeb gossip.

… to trust that your hair stylist/financial adviser/real estate agent isn’t steering you wrong. You hired these people to take care of you for a reason.

… not to contribute to your alma mater’s scholarship fund, if it never awarded you a scholarship.

… to count jelly or apple juice as one of your servings of fruits and vegetables for the day.

… To expect a certain level of respect from everyone you spend time with.
